Festive Food Gifts
There are a variety of types of food gifts that you can put together. Some people may wish to buy the food items and arrange them in a basket cellophane and ribbons. These gifts are usually consist of teas & coffee, biscuits, jams & other spreads, or chocolates & wines.
For those who would like to try something different, why not make your own food gifts this year. Simply by using gift boxes, cellophanes, colored tissue paper, ribbons and baskets, your gifts will speak volumes into the hearts of those receiving these gifts. This personal touch is always a fabulous idea for Christmas.
Here are some recipes to get you started.
Ingredients: 500g of Chocolate, 200g Colored Marshmallows, 100g Macadamia Nuts, 100g Turkish Delight
Method: Melt Chocolate & chop Marshmallows, Macadamia nuts, Turkish Delight.
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Line a slice tray with some grease proof paper then pour ingredients into prepared tray. Pack nice and firmly and cover with plastic wrap then place in the fridge until ready. Cut into small squares.
Ingredients: 250g Copha, 1 Cup Icing Sugar, 1 Cup Mixed Fruit, C Cup Glazed Cherries, C Cup Macadamia Nuts, 1 Cup Desiccated Coconut, 1 Cup Full Cream Milk Powder, 1 C Cup of Rice bubbles, Vanilla Essence.
Method: Melt Copha in a pot. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Line a slice tray with grease proof paper. Pour ingredients into prepared tray and pack nice and firmly and cover with plastic wrap then place in fridge until ready. Cut into small squares.
Ingredients: 3 C Cups Icing Sugar, 4 Cups Coconut, 395 ml can of Condensed Milk, Food Coloring Red, Green, Blue or Pink, Vanilla Essence or Mint Essence. 1 Tablespoon of Milk, Decorations if you wish to make each slice pretty.
Method: Mix all ingredients in a large bowl, then separate half of the mixture into another bowl. Prepare a slice tin with some grease proof paper then pour the first half of ingredients into the tin. Pack nice and firmly then add your choice of food coloring to the second half of mixture. Mix in well and add your choice of essence, either Vanilla, Mint or any other essence you desire. Once you have mixed in the color and essence, pour on top of first half of mixture and again pack nice and firmly. Cover with some plastic wrap and place in fridge. Cut into squares when ready.
