Do Pizza and NASCAR Go Together?
The Great Debate has ended: The Brooklyn Style pizza of Domino's Pizza is
certainly the top pizza variant among National Association for Stock Car
Auto Racing (NASCAR) fans. Domino's Pizza, which is now the
official pizza of the NASCAR, had offered two flavors which NASCAR fans
had to choose between – the other flavor was the Philly Cheesesteak Pizza.
So what does pizza have to do with NASCAR? Well, the Domino's Pizza race
car has now been renamed the Domino's Brooklyn Style Pizza Toyota, to
showcase the winning variant during the NASCAR race.
Even though the Philly Cheesesteak Pizza lost to its Brooklyn-inspired
cousin, it remains one of the most popular variants of pizza under the
Domino's Pizza umbrella.
On August 20, 2007, Domino's Pizza takes on the role of title sponsor of
the NASCAR Busch Series Race to be held at the Michigan International
Speedway and which will be promoted as the "Domino's Pizza 250." No. 99
Busch Series Chevrolet of Michael Waltrip Racing, to be driven by NASCAR
Nextel Cup driver Michael Waltrip, will be sponsored by Domino's Pizza
and will be renamed the No. 99 Domino's Pizza Busch Series Chevrolet.
Domino's Pizza will also be the associate sponsor of the No. 15 NEXTEL
Cup NAPA Chevrolet of Dale Earnhardt Inc. which Michael Waltrip will also
be driving. A double slice in the NASCAR-pizza partnership, so to speak.
This definitely marks a coup for Domino's Pizza in the world of racing.
Domino's was able to boost its sales through the country through its
Race Day 555 Deal which promotes the consumption of its well-loved pizzas
on NASCAR race days. Race Day officially becomes Domino Pizza Day for
pizza-chomping NASCAR racing fans. So the public not only gets to enjoy
exciting car races from NASCAR but they also get to savor great pizzas
from Domino's Pizza. As if its status as the leading pizza company
(based on deliveries) is not enough, Domino's Pizza is revving up its
marketing and advertising efforts to capitalize on its partnership with
So for car racing fans out there, when Race Day comes around, do not
forget to bring lots of cash with you – treat yourself (and your family
as well) to plenty of savory pizzas from Domino's Pizza, the official
pizza maker for the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing.
Without a doubt, great pizzas and fast cars definitely go together.
